Hach's OptiQuant Sludge Level Monitor continuously
measures the sludge level in the final sedimentation phase
of wastewater treatment, allowing plant operators to determine
sedimentation characteristics and manage sludge recirculation
volume efficiently. Accurate, full-time sludge-level monitoring
enables operators to optimize the extraction of recirculated
sludge, compensate for normal daily fluctuations, correct
for unusual conditions, and monitor the separation layer
in the pre-thickener.
Most important, it can provide an early warning
of overload in the final sedimentation stage- and an opportunity
to implement counter-measures immediately.
The OptiQuant Analyzer can further increase plant
efficiency by:
- Lowering
costs with easy installation, minimal maintenance,
automatic operation, and no need for sample conditioning.
- Preventing
erroneous values caused by gas bubbles and
sludge particles on the probe. The probe is self-cleaning
and is installed 0.75" (20 mm) beneath the water
surface, making certain it is unaffected by floating
sludge.
- Providing
reliable measured value outputs during both
normal and extreme conditions (e.g., in cases of sludge
discharge and poor sedimentation).

Hach's OptiQuant Suspended Solids and Turbidity
Analyzer automatically compensates for changes in activated
sludge color caused by variations in through-flow volume,
annual climatic fluctuations, or other unexpected events. Unlike
conventional systems which require you to continually
compensate for color variation, the proven "measured
value constancy" and "measured value reproducibility"
of the OptiQuant Suspended Solids and Turbidity Analyzer
allows you to improve overall plant efficiency with faster,
